The Boat That Rocked (2009)

What a load of rubbish is this try hard remake of every other English rom-com. Love Actually had six concurrent story lines at least with the same theme; love.
This waste of well over 2 hours (was there an editor employed on this production?) had many more story lines meandering though it of which none were of any interest.
Will the boy get a root? 
Will the boy find his father? 
Will the government shut down the ship? 
Will the famous English DJ usurp the American DJ?
Will anybody care?
As for the cast, Nighy plays Nighy, Hoffman is totally wasted (but excellent) Emma Thompson is … ridiculous and the rest are not worth mentioning.
The pirate radio days of the 60s were a fascinating time in broadcasting. So much more could have been done with the basic premise but alas a couple of tit jokes and Carry on up the Pirate Radio Station (as this should have been called) has set sail and sunk. Titanic like.
Thankfully there is some great music used throughout but to save a few bucks each cut is under the 30 second rule.
2/10, just for the music.
