Australia's most interesting Twitter users | News.com.au Top stories | News.com.au.

This story caught my eye as I have until recently been subscribed to twitter, read tweets and twittered. Perhaps there is some interesting things going on in Twitter land. After reading the story I realised my original thought of deleting my twitter account was the right one.

When twitter first set up it was possible to receive tweets by sms. Apparently that ran up someone's costs too much so the service was cut for those outside of the US and UK. Those in that category but with a iPhone are able to use a variety of aps to twitter.

Here's the rub; there is just so much crap being twittered that getting good stuff is too damn hard.

And that two of the top ten Australian twitters are the leaders of the major political parties is just insulting.

Question of the day

Do the employees of Sydney Water have bottled water provided for them? And if so, why? And if not, why not?

The slow grow mo!

Hi All,

Well as Movember draws to a close, and I get to shave my top lip again, I wanted to thank you all for your support. Many of you have asked me, “who donated the most?”. Well as there are still a couple of days left that’s still wide open – I’ll send a league table of who donated how much to everyone of you on Monday. I can tell you that the average donation is $42.50 – which is great especially in these pre-Christmas-soon-to-be-very-tough-economic-times.

The other question I get from some of you is: “How much are you going to donate?” An excellent question. On top of looking like a complete fool (see attached pic for proof) for the past month, I’ll double the average of all the donations I get from you guys – at the MOment, that’ll be $85.00, and well worth it to help blokes’ nuts, and from going nuts.

Thanx again,

Craig

To donate to my Mo you can either:

1. Click this link https://www.movember.com/au/donate/donate-details.php?
action=sponsorlink&rego=1783301&country=au and

2. Write a cheque payable to ‘Movember Foundation’, referencing my
Registration Number 1783301 and mailing it to:

Movember Foundation
PO Box 292
Prahran VIC 3181

Remember, all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

The money raised by Movember is used to raise awareness of men’s health issues and donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and *beyondblue – the national depression initiative. *The PCFA and *beyondblue* will use the funds to fund research and increase support networks for those men who suffer from prostate cancer and depression.

Did you know:

– Depression affects 1 in 6 men….most don’t seek help. Untreated
depression is a leading risk factor for suicide.
– Last year in Australia 18,700 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer
and more than 2,900 died of prostate cancer – equivalent to the number of
women who will die from breast cancer annually.

For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the details at: [ Fundraising Outcomes ] .

Movember culminates at the end of month Gala Partés. If you would like to be part of this great night you’ll need to purchase a [ Gala Parté Ticket ] .

Thanks for your support Craig Ashley.

So good then crap

Is it any wonder Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph is mostly used for wraping fish and chips or lining bird cages. At the end of a well written and balanced article is the following pearler:

‘The Iguanas affair – in which Ms Neal allegedly threatened the jobs and liquor licence of staff at the Gosford nightspot – has threatened to destroy the Government.”

Destroy the government? Are you fucking kidding me? Which government and on what planet!

Interesting the hack/s who penned this thought better to put their name to this crap. It could well have been the trusty idiots who call them sub-editors – not good enough to be editors or journos, just, well, sub. In all ways of life really.

But you tell me; does the last par strike you as out of context to the rest of the story?
